I stumbled across this article: "Does Birth Order Determine Success?" ; and I found it quite accurate and interesting.
I'm the baby in the family, and this is what it had to say about me:

Youngest:
The youngest child tends to be the most creative and can be very charming -- even manipulative. Because they often identify with the underdog, they tend to champion egalitarian causes. (Youngest siblings were the earliest backers of the Protestant Reformation and the Enlightenment.) Successful in journalism, advertising, sales and the arts, famous youngest children include Cameron Diaz, Jim Carrey, Drew Carey, Rosie O'Donnell, Eddie Murphy and Billy Crystal.

P.S.
Fairy DiiGMaa'ther is still taking wish orders for anyone that wants one granted :D

I am a Middles child:
Middle children are more easy going and peer-oriented. Since they can get lost in the shuffle of their own families, they learn to build bridges to other sources of support and therefore tend to have excellent people skills. Middle children often take on the role of mediator and peacemaker. Famous middle children include: Bill Gates, J.F.K., Madonna and Princess Diana.
I totally agree with this description!
First Borns:
More conscientious, ambitious and aggressive than their younger siblings, first borns are over-represented at Harvard and Yale as well as disciplines requiring higher education such as medicine, engineering or law. Every astronaut to go into space has been either the oldest child in his or her family or the eldest boy. And throughout history -- even when large families were the norm -- more than half of all Nobel Prize winners and U.S. presidents have been birst born. Famous eldest children include: Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Richard Branson, J.K. Rowling and Winston Churchill. And macho movie stars are First Born, too, including Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and all the actors who have played James Bond.
NO wonder I like MOnica
Stallion:
It is soooo true right ??
Purg:
"Every astronaut to go into space has been either the oldest child in his or her family or the eldest boy" again the song "out of space" by prodigy is ringing in my head !!
as for Monica !!! forget her u got Sir Richard and all the Bonds on ur list offfttt all the ppl on ur list ar amazing !!
Oh my God! I was just reading that article! LOL I forwarded it to my dad straight away! (Cuz I am the eldest)
O ray7a rakith 7g omy "Mamaaaaa ta3alay ta3alay..bawreech shay...I'm going to be successful...I'm gonna be successful!" After I read out the list of famous people she concluded "...and DR"
Lol min 3ithir most successful! Shadeen fena ilthahr ilparents.
But what caught my attention was this part:
Dr. Frank Sulloway, a behavioral scientist and visiting professor at the Institute of Personality and Social Research at University of California, Berkeley and author of the book, "Born To Rebel: Birth Order, Family Dynamics and Creative Lives," says first borns are more similar in personality to first borns in other families than they are to their own younger siblings and that youngest children are often more similar to the youngest child in another family than his or her own elder siblings. He says this is because the family is not as much a "shared environment" as a set of niches that provide siblings with different outlooks.
I think I agree with that.
DR,
I always took you for a youngest in the family... oh well your still one of my fav Baby girls :P
and ur so lucky like purg !! I know ur gonna be a big shot soon inshalla... when I become President and Stallion is Minister and Purg well... emmm what ever he likes I'll give him... and u my Dear DR ar gonna be BIGGER THAN LIFE !!!;***
Great minds think alike or in this case read alike... ;)
I don't know if this is 100% true. I guess it depends on the upbringing or size of the family, but in some cases the first born is less succesful financially and otherwise than the younger one.
Dearest Amer,
Welcome to my BloG :)
Thats the first time I hear that statement.. but by God I hope it's true ;P
The eldest in our family is 10 years my senior.. he's very successful and mashalah I feel he's gonna keep rising.. now if your statement is true... then one day I will have my Hotel and I will be more successful, at least at heart.. the extra cash would be nice too ;P
I'm a peacemaker middle child? No peace! War!
Just kidding...the part about "building bridges to other souces of support" is kinda true, though I wouldn't say I'm lost in the shuffle...
Caff Darling,
u aaaarrreee such a peace maker... infact you are peeaaaccceee.. !!! mashalah
love these sorts of articles. and found mine to be fairly accurate
:-)
they forgot to put down that first borns, though take on a lotta responsibility, do tend to boss their siblings around. make 'em do all the errands. miss those days
Hazolat,
Welcome to my Blog :)
glad you liked the topic...
as for the bossing... I'm still Mi6raash in the family and bossed around in a more adult way :P :P
LoL, I wish this remained the case with me. I used to be the tallest, biggest and strongest. Now I'm the shortest, most thin and my brother got stronger.
I used to regard my siblings as kids who will always need my protection and advice, and was surprised one day at realizing how big and independant they all are now. Makes my heart ache :-)
